Students Competition
Janine Pugh, Art Director, organised an Autumn Competition for the students. In order to compete they had to create a theme for a colour and cut, a mood board to illustrate the creative thought process and execute the colour and cut in six hours before presenting to a panel of seven judges.
All the judges were really impressed with the standard of work produced by the students and after much consideration prizes were awarded as follows:

Winner of Cut & Style: Lisa Midwinter
Overall Winner: Lisa Midwinter

New members of the team
James Ahern joined us from Lara Johnson’s Salon in Mumbles in November, James has a lot of experience gained working for other well known salons throughout the UK and we were happy that he decided to join our team, welcome James, we look forward to a long and happy association with Pure Aveda Lifestyle.
Louise Allen worked for a top London salon, and decided to return to Swansea to work. She has gained great experience in editorial and session work, you’ll see Louise’s cuts gracing the front cover of many a hairdressing magazine, so we’re particularly pleased that she decided to join the Pure Aveda Team where she adds a whole new aspect to the work on the salon floor.
Sian Waters has seven years of hairdressing experience, and has established a strong following of clients who have respected her work for many years. We are extremely happy to have Sian join the team and look forward to her valued input for many years.

 Swansea’s successful hairdressing salon Pure Aveda Lifestyle were celebrating this week as the company were announced as the winner of the Independent Salon Business Newcomer Award sponsored by Wella Professionals at this year’s exclusive British Hairdressing Business Awards held at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

A SWANSEA salon has blown away the opposition and become the first in South Wales to scoop a national hairdressing award.
Pure Aveda Lifestyle, based on SA1, won the best newcomer category in the British Hairdressing Business Awards.
Eco News
We are encouraging clients to return their paper aveda bags to the shop so that we can re-use them to reduce wastage. Each month a member of the team will select a charity to which we will donate 5p for every bag returned to the shop.
In the interest of reducing environmental impact we have recently switched from washing detergent to Eco-Balls and are currently looking for other ways in which we can reduce our carbon footprint.
